La argentina El secreto de sus ojos, ha sido nominada al Oscar a la mejor película extranjera. Esta es la segunda candidatura del director Juan José Campanella, quien ya había estado entre las cinco finalistas con El hijo de la novia. Los premios se entregan el 7 de marzo.

La 82º ceremonia de los Oscar ya tiene sus nominados y la película argentina El secreto de sus ojos, protagonizada por Ricardo Darín, Soledad Villamil y Guillermo Francella, está entre las cinco candidatas a llevarse el premio a la mejor película extranjera.

Esta es la quinta nominación argentina para este rubro, la segunda de Juan José Campanella, que ya había sido candidato con El hijo de la novia (2001). Las otras nominadas fueron La Tregua (1974) de Sergio Renán; Camila (1984) de María Luisa Bemberg; La Historia oficial (1985) de Luis Puenzo (la única que lo ganó); y Tango (1998) de Carlos Saura.

Avatar, de James Cameron, y Vivir al límite (The hurt locker), Kathryn Bigelow, con 9 nominaciones cada una, son las que más sumaron, en el año en que se seleccionaron diez películas para competir por el rubro a la mejor del año, una apuesta de la Academia por revitalizar la expectativa por el premio mayor.
